Acronyms & Definitions
Active Paying ISPs, current visp.net ISPs who are meeting their monthly minimums and pay the invoice in full each month. They have active paying subscribers and are actively marketing ISP services.

Auto billings, visp.net’s billing staff may store a credit card on file and run it each month to automatically pay an ISP invoice. Additionally, ISPs may store a subscriber’s credit card on file and automatically charge it each month.

BYON, (Bring Your Own Network), provides the necessary tools and back office management solutions to any ISP with wireless, broadband cable or DSL, or dial-up network. *This solution requires ISP in-a-box.

Canceled ISPs, a visp.net ISP on a month-to-month commitment or has reached the end of the term commitment with visp.net. They have canceled by written notice and do not have a balance due.

Chargebacks, when a credit card holder disputes a charge to their credit card company and requests the credit card company reverses the charge. visp.net or ISP then must prove the charge is valid. Also, visp.net initiates a credit card refund to an ISP for pre-paid services if the ISP quits service.

Customer Paid Until dates, the future date an ISP is paid up to when a prepayment is made.

Deleted ISPs, a visp.net ISP that has been canceled and has been deleted from POG and IIAB or IFP. Their account is in good standing with visp.net.

Domain Hosted Accounts, visp.net provides web space that a subscriber can point their domain to and have it live on the internet 24x7.

Domain Renewals, Domains must be current with a valid registrar, renewals are typically required every year and must be paid to the registrar.

EOD (End of Day) Reports, a report complete at the end of each day by visp.net employees presenting a thorough representation of the major accomplishments for the day and planned accomplishments for the next working day.

FMIS, (Fully Managed Internet Service), an end-to-end customer management service includes access to product, email, technical support, and subscriber billing.

Package, is a bundle of services and associated pricing defined by the ISP using ISP in-a-box subscriber management and billing software.

Partner ISP Network Infrastructure/Backbone, (dialup, DSL, wireless, cable, BPL), plugs seamlessly into the visp.net Ultimate Back Office solution (formally known as BYON). Radius authentication (or compatible) is required. Last-mile network can plug directly into vsp.net’s Ultimate Back Office solution allowing the ISP instant access to all visp.net’s resources (Partner Plug-and-Play Network feature).

POG, (Pay as you Go), a billing system developed by visp.net which requires payment to be made before subscribers have access to our network. Lack of payment will automatically suspend future services.

Subscriber Management and Billing Software, an easy to use interface into the Ultimate Back Office solution. Powerful, yet simple way to manage subscriber access to services and the billing for those services by allowing creation of customized packages of services an ISP can offer subscribers at pricing set by the ISP.

Suspended ISPs, a visp.net ISP that has had services disabled due to non-payment. ISPs that have a current Term Addendum with visp.net would be liable for the remaining monthly minimum payments within their term due to their account. These ISPs could become Active Paying ISPs by remitting their balance due within 6 months of non-payment.

Trouble Ticket A ticketing system used by our technical staff to keep track of current issues for ISPs or subscribers.
